About Victoria

Victoria from forest edge chiropractic in Ringwoood

Victoria grew up in Oxfordshire and spent her formative years mostly falling off horses. A family background in medicine and an interest in natural sciences meant that a healthcare calling was always likely. But it wasn’t until persistent neck pain in her 20s from a rugby career was fixed by a visit to a chiropractor, that she realised where her future lay.

Graduating with Distinction from the prestigious AECC in Bournemouth in 2005, she started her professional career in Yorkshire; eventually owning successful clinics in Scarborough and Whitby. She moved back to the temperate south in 2013 to be closer to family and started a teaching career at AECC chiropractic university, as a senior clinical lecturer.  She completed a MSc in Medical Education in 2019.

However, the pandemic made her realise her first love was general chiropractic practice and when an opportunity arose to work locally in beautiful Ringwood, she snapped it up.

Victoria Wheeldon horse riders

Victoria enjoys the varied challenge of general practice.  She runs a relaxed and friendly clinic, where she treats patients aged 8 upwards. She has particular interests in MSK pain which arises during menopause, musculoskeletal pain in older patients and the biomechanics of horse riding. Her strong education background means she is very good at communicating the causes of your problem, which is hugely helpful in speeding up your recovery.

She uses individually tailored treatments, which generally include manipulation and mobilisation techniques, soft tissue massage and stretching, and acupuncture/dry needling for musculoskeletal conditions.  She is typically prescribes (a realistic amount of!) rehabilitative exercises to help you strengthen up various weaknesses, and to prevent recurrence of your symptoms. She works with you and your goals to get you out of pain and back to living the life you love.

Away from work, Victoria loves to spend time in the great outdoors. She is learning to be a falconer; and can often be found riding her horse Harry around Moors Valley and Ringwood Forest.
